2-D Designer - Electrical
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a 2-D Designer to provide support services to assigned engineering teams. Designer support services include engineering analysis, design development, and generation of design output documents in the following areas:

  • Equipment layout
  • Grounding
  • Cable tray

Designer support services include 3D Modeling using Plant Design System (PDS) “Frameworks” software, design development, and generation of design output documents including but not limited to:

Civil Structural Engineer
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a Civil Engineer to provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned engineering teams. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.

Qualifications Required:

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.
  • Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
  • Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.

Civil Structural Analyst
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a Civil Engineer to perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following: Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI); dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history); development of in-structure seismic response spectra; and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration).

Qualifications Required:

  • MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes.

Mechanical Analyst
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a Mechanical Analyst to perform advanced engineering evaluations employing stress analysis, solid and fluid mechanics principles, and heat transfer phenomena to validate the design adequacy of various equipment for normal operation and various accident event conditions. Applications involve both hand computations and computer software including finite element analyses for linear and non-linear components, pipe stress, fluid flow, and pressure vessel design. Component design requires the capability to evaluate component structural responses due to thermal-hydraulic pressure transients, vibration, other live loads, wind loads, and seismic events. Design evaluation tasks also include the ability to determine pressure relief valve size requirements for fluid systems, and to determine pump size requirements for piping networks.

Qualifications Required:

  • MS or Phd Degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, or a BS Mechanical Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of AUTOPIPE, ANSYS, ABAQUS, PVElite, COMPRESS, or similar computer codes.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as ASME VIII, API-579, ASME B31, NFPA-13, SMACNA, ASME AG-1, IBC, and AISC.
  • Candidate must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of mechanical systems.

3-D Pro Engineer Designer
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a 3-D Pro Engineer (Pro-E) Desiner to model and prepare detailed drawings for a government facility. Work will also include chekcing drawings, basic engineering analysis, and incorporation of comments. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to work Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. This position is full-time with benefit package included.

Qualifications Required:

  • Associates degree in an engineering discipline with five years of experience in the design of complex mechanical systems or an equivalent combination of education and design experience is required.
  • Experience using Pro-E or similar 3-D CAD systems is required
  • Knowledge of the technical concepts of drafting plus basic engineering principles, codes, and standards is required

Mechanical Engineer
Theta Technologies Inc. has a potential opening for a Mechancial Engineer to prepare engineering calculations and QA documents for a government facility. Work will also include the development of 3-D ProEngineer models, FEA engineering analysis, creating specifications, and creating engineering estimates. Must be able to work Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. This position is full-time with benefit package included.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in one or more of the following areas: machine design, vacuum systems, heat transfer, stress analysis and support design, design of rotating equipment, and high pressure systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function as part of a design team consisting of scientific specialist, engineers, and designers to meet project cost and schedule goals.
  • Knowledge of Pro-Engineer (Pro-E) CAD solid-modeling software is desired
  • Experience in FEA is required
  • Good written and verbal communications skills needed
